About

Based in the Beautiful Cheshire countryside, at the base of Bosley Cloud, The Timbersbrook Project offers individuals, groups, Schools and other organisations the opportunity to return to the wild.

Our stunning 7.4 acre site offers not just superb location and scenery, but an abundance of flora and fauna, rare and other breed animals, and utter relaxation.

The Timbersbrook Project is an idyllic location, minutes from Congleton, Leek, Macclesfield, Staffordshire and the Peak District.

My partner and I walked along a public footpath one Spring day in 2003 and found the land which is now the Nature Reserve, we asked the woman in the cottage along the lane if she knew who owned it, we explained what our objectives were and she said it was a lovely idea and gave us the owners phone number. He was willing to sell it to us and that is how it all began. The land had a tidy up order on it so we had to clear an old lorry, a tractor/digger, a Land Rover, an old building that was falling down, asbestos and loads of old accumulated rubbish before we could even start.

Our objectives are to provide a free amenity for children from local schools and groups etc. to teach them about nature and to respect and care for the countryside. We have a large classroom where local farmers and experts will give talks to the children on a variety of subjects. These visits will take place about twice a week which would not be disruptive to the local residents. It is also open to anyone who is interested and there will be no charge for entry, if anyone wishes to make a donation towards the running costs, it would, of course, be greatly appreciated. We have put 4 years of very hard work into what it is today and it is still an ongoing project, as well as local firms who have donated time, products and expertise many individuals have given their time. A special mention should go to Ray Rotchell who helped me every Sunday whatever the weather for 4 years.

All this has not been easy and the reason for not opening earlier has been due to certain local residents who have done everything in their power to stop me, including circulating a libellous letter to all my sponsors, taking me to court to try to stop me having a water supply, assaulting me twice, watching me and anyone who visit's the Reserve, telling them they will be arrested if they proceed, this includes people delivering goods to me. Continually taking photographs and videos of people without their consent. I could go on.

Throughout all this most people have stayed very loyal to me and it is greatly appreciated, they have continued to help me in any way they can so that the Nature Reserve can open and start being used as an amenity for everyone.
